Postmenopausal women w/ osteoporosis at high risk for fracture eg, history of osteoporotic fracture, multiple risk factors for fracture or patients who failed or are intolerant to other available osteoporosis therapy.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Preexisting hypercalcaemia. Severe renal impairment, metabolic bone diseases other than primary osteoporosis (including hyperparathyroidism & Paget's disease of bone), unexplained elevations of alkaline phosphatase, prior external beam or implant RT to the skeleton, patients w/ skeletal malignancies or bone metastases.
Active or recent urolithiasis. Transient orthostatic hypotension. Concomitant use w/ digitalis. Increase in urinary Ca excretion. Moderate renal impairment. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
